Student Health Services

We are sorry to announce that our schools are unable to provide flu shots this year as our flu shot provider has backed out. Please call your child's medical provider or see the following drive-thru flu vaccine clinics if you are interested in having the flu shot. We apologize for this inconvenience.

At RSU13, we are following the guidance provided to us by the Maine CDC and DOE. If your child has COVID-like symptoms as described in the form below, your child will be dismissed from school. Please contact your school nurse with any questions or concerns.

THANK YOU to Lorraine Lash...

Please join us in wishing Lorraine Lash, RN at Oceanside Middle School a very happy retirement! After long consideration, Nurse Lash will be retiring after the 2019-2020 school year.

Lorraine graduated from St. Joseph's College in 1978 and began her nursing career at Miles, Fieldcrest, and Knox Center for Long Term Care. Today, Lorraine has 20 years of experience as a school nurse and 12 years of experience with local EMS. Lorraine has contributed immensely to the health and well-being of countless students and community members. She has always responded to any situation with compassion, critical thinking, and professionalism. The entire school community has benefited from Lorraine's leadership and passion for her students.

Nurse Lash's office was a place of comfort, and her dedication to the health and well-being of her students has been unwavering. She greeted every student with a smile, and perhaps most importantly, an offer for a snack and some water! Lorraine's coworkers will always remember her zucchini bread and leaving every nurses meeting with a dozen eggs from her chickens. Lorraine always has a calm, kind, and caring disposition. She will be so missed!

In addition to Lorraine's love of school nursing, Lorraine loves to sew, she loves her chickens, being outside, cross country skiing, and kayaking. Lorraine's greatest love in life is her family. Lorraine and her husband, Steve have been married 42 years and they are very proud of their four children and six grandchildren, with one on the way!

Our warmest wishes to Lorraine for a well-deserved retirement! Thank you for everything you have done for our community.
