RDHS Field Hockey in walk off win

Madison Sturks' goal, with just 3:29 remaining in overtime, lifted the RDHS field hockey team to a hard-fought, 4-3 victory over Oak Hill on September 22nd. It was the second win of the season for the young Tigers, who overcame a 1-0 first half deficit in the process. Leah Ellis scored twice for Rockland, tallying her first of the season early in the second half to tie the score at 1-1. Allison Ward put Rockland ahead moments later, finding the back of the cage off a mad scramble in front of the Raider net. Oak Hill tied the game at 2-2 midway through the second half and set the stage for a frantic final 90 seconds of regulation. With 1:08 remaining in the second half, Ellis tallied her second goal. Victory would have to wait, however, as Oak Hill tied the score just 38 seconds later, sending the game into extra time and setting the stage for Sturks' heroics.
